Towers 4 Change Melbourne Vertical Marathon
fara has been selected as one of four Charity Partners
in the
2025 Towers 4 Change Melbourne Vertical Marathon
What is Towers 4 Change?
Vertical marathons or stair climbs are an incredibly popular physical challenge that take place in iconic buildings across the globe.
Towers 4 Change is a world first being held across four Melbourne buildings on Sunday 30th March 2025. ‘Climbers’ can take on one tower or all four! Some run but most walk!
Towers 4 Change is being held at the new West Side Place opposite Southern Cross Station.
Much like standard Fun Runs, individuals or teams register and raise funds for charity. One of the unique aspects about Towers 4 Change is that each Tower has a nominated charity they will raise funds for.
fara has been awarded Tower 2...all 64 storeys as a part of a competitive tender process!
Entries are now exclusively open to members of our community until Wednesday 11th December and will then open to the general public. See below for details.
What does this mean for fara?
One of the greatest challenges we face is fundraising in a crowded charitable environment.
As a rare disease, we compete with hundreds of other organisations, all equally worthy, for awareness and support. Most people have a favourite charity or a cause they like to support and much of this comes through personal connection or experience.
Towers 4 Change is an ideal opportunity for us to ‘get outside the room’ and talk about FA, our community and the amazing research we help fund.
Three hundred entrants will climb fara’s Tower #2. As well as the immediate impact of their fundraising, amongst them may be individuals that convert to long term supporters.
Towers 4 Change has the potential to raise tens of thousands of dollars for critical FA medical research!
From a promotional perspective, this is an amazing opportunity for media exposure. As well as being a high profile, news-worthy public event, the array of other partners involved are all committed to promotion and advertising the day.
Partners in the event include:
· West Side Place (Precinct Manager)
· Far East Consortium (Developer)
· The Ritz-Carlton Hotel (Tennant)
· The Dorsett Hotel (Tennant)
· Stair Challenge Australia (Organiser)
· Good Friday Appeal (Charity Partner – Tower 3)
· Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (Charity Partner – Tower 1)
· The Victorian Homeless Fund (Charity Partner – Tower 4)
In other exciting news, Towers 4 Change will be the cornerstone fundraising event on Lend Us Some Muscle Month which is moving from May to March!
This change will enable us and fundraisers to take advantage of warner weather when they are undertaking their physical challenges. It also helps balance our giving initiatives across the year. More on this soon!

We are looking for volunteers
As a part of our participation in Towers 4 Change, fara is required to provide 22 volunteers on the day.
We are yet to be allocated our specific roles however they could extend from assisting entrants with directions in the precinct to managing bag storage, bib allocation, water distribution and safety support in the stairs and on the roof top.
In the coming weeks, information including video guides on our volunteer tasks will be made available for us to share.
To volunteer please email Brad Hyde at brad@fara.org.au
As more information becomes available, we will continue to share it with our community.
